Welcome to the Krypton group at the Volgenau School of Engineering! We are an informal, multidisciplinary group that gathers scholars, students, alumni, and basically everyone else interested in the general area of knowledge representation. This is an umbrella concept that falls within the interests of many disciplines. Not surprisingly, we have in our group a very diverse portfolio of personal backgrounds such as engineers from many areas, philosophers, mathematicians, computer scientists, and many others (even fighter pilots).
Our objective is to foster the dissemination of knowledge and good practices on the subject by promoting seminars and other activities that allow for exchange of ideas and experiences. We hold an ongoing seminar that happens every Friday afternoon at the SEOR’s Information Fusion Lab, in which either an invited speaker or some of our own group presents on a related subject. Attendance is always optional among the group participants and opened to non-members, so if you want to participate please refer to the Krypton calendar of activities on the left and don’t hesitate to share your ideas with us.
